Imperial Lomonosov factory

Lomonosov Porcelain is inseparable from the history of St. Petersburg.It was established by Elizabeth II in the mid-18th century, the desire to reproduce to perfection and improve the famous porcelaine of  China, encourage the collaboration of two scientists: Mikael Lomonosov and Vinogradov.

Half of century after the creation, the Manufacture of Lomonosov became an emblematic figure of the art of porcelain, all over Russia and most European countries.A specialty of this porcelain, the decoration is based on famous paintings, and monuments of architecture, well known in their time. Some of the most famous artists were working in the Lomonosov factory.

Through the reproduction of many masterpieces of painting or architecture of the city ,the Lomonosov procelain becaa part of the heritage of  St. Petersburg.Russian Lomonosov Porcelain is still a major player in the world of porcelain art. Many museums in Russia and the world  museums exposes the most beautiful masterpieces of the Lomonosov Factory. Kremlin and the Orthodox Church also  use it today.
